Custom software
Legacy system modernization
The old system still works, but every change is costly and risky. We help clean it up, upgrade it or replace it step by step, without stopping the company.
What we can do for you
Technical audit
We assess code, infrastructure and risks, then propose a prioritized plan.
Technology upgrade
Moving to supported language and library versions and closing security gaps.
Data migration
Safely moving data to a new structure with verification of correctness.
Gradual replacement
We replace the system piece by piece instead of risking one big switchover.
About this service
Custom software, also called bespoke software, is built around the processes of a specific company. It covers MVPs and prototypes, internal tools and workflow systems, legacy system modernization, and maintenance and development of existing solutions. We can also join your team as a dedicated development team.
Compared with off-the-shelf programs, a custom system avoids workarounds, integrates better with other tools and gives you full control of the code and its further development.
Why Cormo
Lower risk
Gradual changes and tests limit downtime.
Lower development cost
Cleaner code lets you add features faster and cheaper.
Better security
Current libraries and infrastructure reduce exposure to attacks.

Experience you can rely on
We have been building custom software since 2016, in over 100 projects. We work iteratively, show progress every few weeks, and hand over the code and documentation to the client. We also take over systems built by other companies.
How we work
- 01
Meeting
We learn the business goal, the users and the project constraints.
- 02
Estimate
We settle the scope, a first estimate and a schedule.
- 03
Delivery
We design, build and test in short iterations.
- 04
Support
We deploy, monitor and evolve the solution after launch.

Estimate your project in 2 minutes
Answer a few questions and we will prepare a first estimate and send it to your email. No strings attached.

MVP and prototypes
Instead of building everything at once, we start with the smallest version of the product that shows whether the idea works. Then we develop it based on real data.
Internal tools and workflow
Many companies run key processes in spreadsheets and email. We replace them with simple systems that enforce step order, permissions and deadlines.
Maintenance and development
A system needs care after launch: updates, monitoring and quick reaction to errors. We provide it for our own projects and for solutions taken over from other companies.
Dedicated teams
A team that works on your product like an in-house department, without the cost and time of hiring. We choose the team’s composition to match the project stage.
Frequently asked questions
What does modernizing a legacy system involve and how is it different from rebuilding?
Modernization means tidying and updating an existing system: upgrading technology, improving performance and security, rewriting selected parts and integrating with new tools. Unlike a rebuild, we keep what works and has value, and replace what holds development back. We deliver the modernized system, documentation and code, which belong to you. The scope depends on the state of the application. We decide whether to change the system gradually or rewrite it entirely only after a review, not upfront.
How does modernization proceed without stopping the company’s work?
We start with an audit of the code, database and infrastructure, which leads to a plan. Changes are introduced in stages, often alongside the running system, so users can keep working and the switch happens gradually. Before each major change we make a backup and run tests. Duration depends on the size of the system and the quality of the existing code, so we give it only after the audit. Staged rollout limits the risk of downtime compared with a one-off replacement.
What drives the cost of modernization and how do you estimate it?
Mainly the state of the code, the availability of documentation, the number of dependencies on outdated libraries, the size of the database and the scope of changes. That is why we usually begin with an audit showing what is worth fixing and what should be rewritten. On that basis we estimate stages and you decide what to do first. Old systems can hold surprises, so we honestly mark areas of uncertainty instead of pretending to full predictability.
What risks come with modernization and how do you limit them?
The biggest risks are data loss, hidden dependencies and regressions, meaning breaking things that used to work. We limit them with backups, a trial data migration, tests and introducing changes in small steps. We also check dependencies on outdated libraries, which can be security gaps. We cannot promise that old code holds no surprises. If an element cannot be safely touched without further analysis, we say so plainly.
Can a system be modernized if its author is gone and there is no documentation?
Usually yes, although it takes more time for analysis. We read the code, examine the database and the behavior of the application, and write our findings into the documentation that was missing. After modernization the system stops being a black box, and the code and documentation belong to you. For very exotic technologies we say honestly whether we prefer modernization or migration to a new platform. Missing documentation often means missing knowledge of business rules, so we also ask users how the system should work.
